Well & Septic Inspections

Home / Specialty Inspections / Well & Septic Inspections

Over the last decade NBI’s team has performed well over 1,000 well and septic inspections. Many municipalities have their own certifications and requirements. NBI complies with those certifications; however our own strict guidelines of performing septic and well inspections far exceed most local requirements.

NBI always opens all septic tanks, and always probes and performs a stone review of the septic fields. Our report also includes a sketch of the tank, field, and well locations. NBI photographs all aspects of the inspection findings to substantiate the deficiencies that are found.

When conducting a well inspection NBI documents gallons per minute and photographs the pressure of the shower while other faucets are running. NBI’s team also examines the well head, water storage tank, and psi (pounds per square inch) for the tank. All components are reviewed for proper maintenance and leaks and a full report is generated along with a photo journal to substantiate deficiencies. In addition, the initial charge includes a water sample for bacteria and coliform. We also have the capability to test for nitrates and heavy metals including lead and arsenic. For those clients who require FHA or HUD we have the ability to accommodate those requirements as well. All additional water samples must be requested at the time of booking an inspection, including FHA and HUD.
